In an effort to capture the true nature of waves, Jessica Fields was able to create this unique concept of building waves. “The wave concept came to me when I was trying to figure out a way to depict the variety of shapes that create a wave. It seemed like I was missing the point every time I drew a picture of a static wave. The nature of a wave is that it is always moving and changing. The concept of layering various wave-like shapes gave me the ability to achieve the feel of a true wave. And now, being able to have others create their own wave patterns, Waves of Gratitude can illustrate just how dynamic a wave truly is.”
The Waves of Gratitude individual waves make it possible to create a seemingly infinite number of patterns that can represent the wearer’s own way of showing their gratitude.
“Taking on the Waves of Gratitude project was a challenge for me. I typically only design jewelry for my own line and as such am only bound by my own aesthetic choices. The Waves of Gratitude project gave me the chance to focus on and really explore very specific themes. It pushed me to work outside of my comfort zone. I have been given a new perspective on design, one which will influence the way I work from here on in.”
